This week I played with the Inspiring Snapdragons Bundle to make bluebonnet cards.  Whenever I see flowers shaped like this, I think of bluebonnets.  Of course, being a 3rd generation Texan helps…lol.  I have 3 designs to share…here’s the first one I made.

For the second card, I decided to do a simple field of bluebonnets.  I looked at all my stamp sets to find some green grass or leaves to fill in the field.  Finally, I found the perfect solution.  The leaves are from the New Labeled With Love stamp set.  The leaves image has lots of space because there is a companion image of flowers to stamp with it, but that works perfect for scattering some leaves in my “field”.  Plus, I love the dragonfly stamped on vellum with clear embossing to seal the ink.

Lastly, the third design uses the overlay die cut in the bundle and one of the Meandering Meadows designer papers.  I cut out my window with the Nested Essential dies and tucked in the stem to create the illusion that the bluebonnet was “growing” right through the window view.

I wound up using all three of the saying in the stamp set for my bluebonnet cards.  That doesn’t always work out, but I like it!  Of course, you can stamp these flowers in any color, but the Blueberry Bushel works great for bluebonnets.

Colors: Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green, Fresh Freesia, Garden Green, Basic White
