I designed an Encircled in Nature card for my clubs this month.  Since we are at the end of the catalogs, I thought I’d concentrate on showing them more of the Online Exclusives.  But, I also used some retiring items like the Very Vanilla envelopes and the Earthen Elegance designer series paper.

The die to cut the center out of the twig wreath lines up using a handy tab that lines up with the gap in the wreath design.  You can see the gap in the photo below.  I hid the gap with the trees for the cards in the second photo.

I didn’t even notice they retired the vanilla envelopes at first.  Once I did notice, I ordered a couple more packages for my stash.  I have plenty, but I like to match my envelopes with whatever neutral I’m using.

Also, I used Wink of Stella on the moon and stars.  The sparkle is hard to photograph, but it’s there!  Plus, I figured the trees should sparkle too, so I used Night of Navy Soft Shimmer Specialty paper for them.

Colors: Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, Smoky Slate, Very Vanilla

Supplies:

Since I wanted my Encircled in Nature card to be a masculine birthday card, I grabbed a birthday stamp from a retired stamp set on my shelf, Sweetest Cherries.  That’s why it’s good to keep your old favorites handy.
