At our Labor Day Retreat, I designed this Halloween framed shadow box sampler to show off the Magic in This Night Suite. I bought the frame in May, to do a Spring sampler, but didn’t get to it yet. So, I decided to make it a Halloween one. I’m in love with the Magic in This Night designer series paper in the current mini catalog since it’s so stylish and diverse. Most of the sheets are Halloween designs on one side and generic designs for any season on the other side.
Since it’s such pretty paper, I used the designer paper in all the sections except the silver spider web which is silver foil embossed with the Cobwebs 3D embossing folder. Also, I’m also loving the Metallic Mesh Ribbon, and have used it on several Christmas cards.
And, here’s another close up. Since I used black and darker card stock, I also used Black Dimensionals which are perfect for all these bats and spiders because the dimensionals are less visible from an angle.
Also, I used Wink of Stella on the “Halloween” word to make it sparkle since so many of the elements are shiny and glittery. Something else cool about this frame is that it’s magnetic! So, I can pull these out and create a sampler for every holiday or season…how cool is that?
Therefore, I taped some magnets on the back side so they’re easy to pull on and off. These are business card magnets (just because I had some on hand), but you could also cut up the magnets meant for the back of 4×6 photos.
Colors: Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock, Basic Black, Silver, Whisper White
Just a note, if you have black embossing powder (retired), use that or you can stamp in black using the stamparatus and then stamp again in VersaMark right on top of it to emboss with clear embossing powder for the same effect.
Since I know you’re going to ask, I got the frame on Amazon. It was called Foundations Decor Shadow Box Magnetic by Foundations Decor.
