I made 3 Seaside Wishes cards at our recent retreat. Actually, I could have made many more since I’m in love with the detail on this sand dollar! Hopefully, these hybrid embossing folders are here to stay because they are amazing. Also, to hold your curved shape, just put one dimensional in the center behind each sand dollar.
Here’s a close-up of the sand dollars so you can see the detail. The first one on the left is just embossed and die cut (no ink or stamping). For the center one, I inked the embossing folder and then used a Blending Brush to add more ink in the center of the sand dollars. Lastly, I stamped the one on the right and then die cut and embossed through the Hybrid Embossing Folder. Basic Beige is perfect for realistically colored sand dollars, however, I think any of the Soft Subtles colors will make great color schemes.
At retreat, Debbie was looking over my shoulder and mentioned that some of the Thoughtful Journey designer series paper looked like beach scenes. So, sure enough, several designs will work great for beach backgrounds on Seaside Wishes cards.
