The first two ports on our incentive trip cruise were Sitka and Skagway. We did a wildlife excursion in Sitka on a large passenger boat. In retrospect, we should have done the smaller boat excursion…those smaller boats get way closer to the wildlife. Nevertheless, we did see whales, otters, eagles, and sea lions through our binoculars. They were too far away to see any detail without the binoculars…so thankful we had great binoculars. I’d never seen eagles in the wild before…we saw an eagle nest on an island with two eagles guarding it…so cool.

Here’s the sign in the port of Sitka…we did a little shopping downtown before our excursion.

On our excursion, I did capture a great video of a whale diving down and showing us it’s tail. Here’s a still from the video…see how close those smaller boats are?

The otters are so cute…I’ve never seen them before either. Again, they were farther away than I’d have enjoyed them to be, but so fun to watch through the binoculars.

Stampin’ Up! treated us to the White Pass Railway excursion. This train ride is awesome! The train goes all through beautiful landscapes…we took at least 100 photos on the train plus a few little videos. I’ll probably work on putting my videos together to make one montage video. The train goes through two tunnels on the route.

I left my seat several times to photograph outside the car we were in. We weren’t allowed to change cars, just stand on the platform of our own car.

The train dropped us off in downtown Skagway to shop, and we caught a shuttle for the short ride down to the dock afterwards.

Sitka and Skagway are both loaded with jewelry stores. While we did buy some awesome jewelry, Tim really wanted a zip up hoodie. Surprisingly, we didn’t find one he liked…most of their hoodies were pull over type. In the end and as a last resort, we wound up buying a couple of t-shirts on the ship.
