Well, I had the T-Shirt story, and now I have the hat story. It’s all good…just an interesting journey to get our cowboy hats at the BackStage Vegas farewell party. Don’t get me wrong, I had an amazing time at the party, but getting my hat was definitely a long process. Here were the “simple” rules for decorating your own hat.

I got to the party right after dinner with Chris & Cheryl about half an hour after it started. Unfortunately, by then, the line to choose a hat was down the hallway and they were shooing us away from the line asking us to enjoy other things first.
So, you could listen to music and line dance…but without your hat yet…

Or, you could eat, drink, and socialize…but without your hat yet. You can see part of the line into the “hat” room in the photo below. This is after they put a cut off to the end of the line.

And, I didn’t want to take photos without my hat yet. The line was taking so long that they started bringing some “Grab & Go Hats” to us in line. But, of course, I really wanted to pick out and decorate my own hat.

I didn’t know they had green & blue options until later (probably would have chosen green). But, I took one of the rusty brown ones already decorated someone brought us and then just removed the decor. That way, I could skip the pick your hat line (which was the bottleneck of the process), and go straight to the pick everything else lines. Having hundreds of creative people choose a hat color, hat style, and hat size…sure, that’ll be quick and easy…lol.

This is the pick your hatbands, feathers, playing cards, and matches area. Short line here since it’s easier once you have a hat color. I chose three bands, a playing card, and two feathers.

Then, the Father Hat Bar ladies secured everything to your hat.

Then, we got to have our hats branded with up to two brands. One of the options was a Stampin’ Up! logo. I got a crescent moon branded on the side of my hat and waited on the Stampin’ Up! logo since I wasn’t sure where I wanted it branded. Later, I went back in line again and got it branded on the under side of the brim in the back.

Here’s my hat!!!

And, finally, line dancing, videos, and photos with friends wearing my hat!

They also had a little round platform you stand on while a tablet sized video camera rotated around you making fun videos. Here’s the links to the two videos I got…so much fun & better with hats!:
Happy Stampin’
