On our last Alaskan cruise excursion, we met some Victoria peacocks. We took a bus tour of Victoria, BC. The highlight of the tour was the first stop at an absolutely beautiful park full of water features, Canadian geese, peacocks, and ducks. The tour driver gave us peanuts to feed the friendly peacocks roaming the park.
The first time I tried to feed one of them, she promptly turned around and walked away as if to say “nope”. But, I tried again and this time she ate all the peanuts.
Tim took several photos of me feeding her…so much fun!
Then, the goal was to get a photo of a male with all his feathers fluffed out. I kept trying to get in front of this peacock that was starting to fluff out his feathers and after circling him a bit, I got some great photos.
I was afraid he would just get tired of me circling him, but he cooperated.
And, finally the money shot!
The bus driver actually waited on me…this Victoria peacock was right by the bus and she knew I wanted a photo of the feathers…so nice of her to wait and let me get the shot.
I’m on track to earn the next trip which is Costa Rica…still, it takes me the whole earning period to make the points needed for these fabulous trips. I can’t wait for the next one.
