My Stamp Club technique this month is a Faux Shutter technique featuring the Pansy Patch stamps and dies. It’s always great to add another layout style to our bag of tricks. And, this one is so easy. It looks great with a hexagon shape too. If you have the retired Beautiful Shapes dies, it has layering hexagons in it. But, since that is retired, I used the Stylish Shapes squares.
Here is the technique sample and instructions my club made for their technique journal. See the little hexagon shutter icon I added to the instructions. That gives you a basic idea of what it would look like with a hexagon. But, I love the square angled into a diamond shape too…it’s so dramatic.
I’m impressed with how awesome these pansies look, especially with some sponging to bring them to life. Give this technique a try. If you don’t have the Pansy dies for your faux shutter technique, you can, of course, use any focal stamps or dies in the “shutter”. I plan to play around some more with this technique.

Where can I buy the Pansy Patch Paper that goes with the dies? I only need the paper. Thank you. Sheila
This paper was retired quite a while ago so it’s no longer available. Sorry about that 🙁
Thank you for sharing this idea and instructions! This will be great to share with a swap we’re doing this weekend!!
Pam, I hope your swap was fun!
Very unique card. I like the pansy and the colors your have chosen.
Thanks so much!
Love it!
Thanks Angie!
