My stamp club this month is doing the partial embossing technique using the Nested Friends bundle and the Cane Weave embossing folder.  Spring is almost here!  I love this stamp set for a Spring or Easter card.  Also, I added Wink of Stella on the nest & bird, Soft Suede sponging with the Blending Brush on the oval background, and some splatters from the deep brown Blends marker.

The template for the partial embossing is 3 thin cardboard pieces from Stampin’ Up’s designer paper packaging.  Cut them to the same size as your embossing folder for lining up easily.  I used the Framed Florets dies to get the oval shape.  Here’s my template below.

For our technique journals, I used Vellum Card Stock which really shows off the partial embossing and a circle die for the template.  Since it’s so striking, I almost wish I used Vellum on the card too.  Here is the sample and instructions for the technique journals.

You can do any shape.  Just die cut one cardboard, then trace on the other two before die cutting to make them uniform.  Then, glue them together.  See my instructions above for the machine sandwich.  Also, the car image/greeting is from the He’s All That stamp set.
