Here’s my So Very Merry stained glass technique card. The So Very Merry stamp set makes this technique super easy with the two images already in circles that punch out perfectly with the 2-3/8″ circle punch. Just heat emboss the images in gold, silver, black, or copper on vellum card stock. Then, color with Stampin’ Blends (inside the lines) on the back side of the vellum. Flip it back to the front and voila! Back your vellum with white card stock to show off the colored “stained glass”.
The paper is from the One Horse Open Sleigh 6″x 6″ paper (online exclusive). Probably, the tracks in the snow were meant to be deer tracks, but I decided they belong to Santa…lol. Here’s a close up of the “stained glass”. Since I wasn’t sure about rosy nose & cheeks or what color to make the toy sack, I colored each one a little different. Leave your white areas uncolored so they appear white when layered on the white circle.
I have a friend that love cardinals, so I’ll be doing a So Very Merry stained glass technique for a cardinal card too. You can, of course, do this technique with any line art image. However, the So Very Merry was already designed to look like stained glass.
